Scheduling

In regard to lesson times, once a lesson time has been scheduled, that will be the student's lesson time going forward on a weekly recurring basis. Lessons are available as 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions.

Payment arrangement

Payment options include : Cash, Check, Venmo, PayPal, PopMoney, or Chase QuickPay with Zelle. Payment is due on the last lesson of each month.

Late policy

Maintaining consistency in lessons is very important to making progress. Students are encouraged to schedule their lesson at a time that they will be able to honor in a consistent way, and are discouraged from scheduling a lesson time that will be frequently affected by outside conflicts. Consistency is key. Please notify if you’re running late. In the event that a student arrives to the lesson late, we will use what time is still available to go over what we can, however if the student is more than 15 minutes late for a scheduled lesson and hasn’t called or texted, it will be assumed that the lesson has been skipped. Payment will be due for the skipped lesson as if a lesson had taken place.

Cancellations/Excused absences/Reschedules

Things happen and occasionally a lesson has to be cancelled or rescheduled. If you need to cancel, please call or text by 10:30am on the day of your lesson. Sessions that are cancelled in advance will qualify as an “excused absence” and no payment will be due for that session. If you know in ahead of time that you will need to skip a lesson please give as much advance notice as possible to allow for other students who may be looking for an open time. If no notice is given and a lesson is missed, payment will be due in full as if the lesson took place. Each student can use a maximum of 3 excused absences in a three month period. An excused absence can be used for any reason and no payment for the excused absence date will be due. The excused absences available to each student will reset every three months. In the event that the absences are all used during the 3 months, all remaining lesson dates must be paid for to retain a student’s time slot going forward. If the student must cancel their regularly scheduled lesson appointment, but the student then subsequently reschedules to have a lesson on a different day, an “excused absence” will not be considered to have been used. The student will retain the existing number of excused absences they had available and the cancelled lesson will be seen simply as a rescheduled lesson. In the event that a teacher must be absent, parents and students will be notified by 10:30 of the morning of the lesson (usually much earlier), and no payment will be due for the missed session.

Lesson etiquette

If there is a lesson already happening when the student arrives, please do not distract or interfere with the lesson already in progress. In order to be respectful of the following students appointment time, we may begin wrapping up shortly before the end of the session. Please, no eating or chewing gum during the lesson. Please practice good hygiene and be sure to wash hands before the session starts. If siblings are attending the session, parents are encouraged to monitor them at all times and to discourage behavior that could be distracting.
